Got a soft spot for your summer florals? Well, who says they can't stick around for fall? With a touch of creativity and our 1-2-3 How To Guide, you can seamlessly transition those breezy florals into stunning fall ensembles. We're here to guide you through the art of transforming your summer florals into fabulous fall fashion. So don't pack up those pretties just yet! Read on...
1. Sayonara Sandals...Step into some Boots:
One of the most noticeable changes as autumn arrives is the footwear. Trade in your summery open-toed sandals for chic ankle booties or knee-high boots. These will not only keep you warm but also add an extra dose of sophistication to your outfit. Imagine your favorite floral dress paired with suede booties – the perfect blend of summer and fall vibes. Nothing says fall is here like a pair of boots.
We know sometimes the step into boots can be a stretch, especially if you are a sun-loving beach babe at heart. If you're looking to transition to fall a little more gradually, consider replacing your sandals with a semi-closed wedge heel like the Corkys Calypso Wedge Sandal. The Calypso has a soft leather upper providing more coverage than a traditional summer sandal but has an open heel and toe design - ideal for those later summer/early fall days. It's like taking one step toward fall without jumping all the way in!
Another option for those not quite ready for full-on boot season...have some fun playing around in sneaks & tennis shoes. I don't wear closed shoes much in the summer so when the weather cools down, I reach for comfy slip-on sneakers like the Corkys Babalu Sneaker. They are as comfortable as my summer sandals and a baby step closer to fall. They come in fun colors that pair well with a variety of florals and you can even wear them with skirts & dresses for a casual on-the-go look.
2. Hang Up the Shorts, Hello Maxi Skirts, and Long Pants:
Wave goodbye to those shorts and those shorter skirts – it's time to embrace longer styles. Think maxi skirts and full-length pants. Your legs might be a bit more covered, but your style will still be on point. Keeping your floral top and simply changing the length of your bottoms will lend way to that fabulous fall vibe.
In our featured Outfit Inspo, we're trading the knee-length Alure skirt for a longer Maxi Skirt with pockets. We're keeping the color the same...just going with more length and voila! We are already one step closer to those autumn feels.
We've also traded those adorable Sawyer Swing Shorts for full length comfy pocket pants to cover our legs and keep them warm as the cooler months start rolling in. Elongating our bottoms gives our overall look more of a cooler weather vibe which helps our floral tops fit right into the upcoming season.
Cara Short Sleeve Cardigan | Transitional Sunset Sleeveless Blouse in Navy | Carmine Cardigan | Alure Skirt | Maxi Skirt with Pockets | Sawyer Swing Shorts | Sateen Headbands | Oversized Ostrich Tote Bag | Dixie Bliss Nora Earrings Duo Set | Jeanette Pants with Pockets | Priscilla Palazzo Pants | Sandals | Corkys Babalu Sneaker
3. Layer Up with Cardigans and Jackets:
Chilly days call for layers. Grab those trusty cardigans and those oh-so-cool denim jackets. Layering is like your fashion superpower for fall. A delicate floral blouse paired with a chunky knit cardigan not only adds warmth but also creates a textured and multidimensional look. A denim jacket adds an edge to the soft floral patterns and also creates a multidimensional look bringing more interest to your outfit.
4. Play with Accessories:
Your choice of accessories can make or break an outfit, and this holds true when transitioning your summer florals into fall. Swap out your lightweight summer accessories for those that are more autumn-appropriate. Think chunky statement pieces, layered necklaces & bracelets, and earrings in warm tones. These accessories will add a touch of coziness to your look and tie in with the fall aesthetic.
5. Mix in Darker Tones and Embrace Fall Fabrics:
Now, here's where things get interesting. While pastels and bright hues are the heart of summer florals, fall calls for richer, deeper shades. To keep wearing your favorite florals in the fall, you'll want to pair them with the warmer darker solid pieces from your closet. Take a look at the colors in your favorite floral tops and try to spot the darkest hues like navy, green, burgundy, brown, or black. Instead of wearing bright yellow, try a warmer mustard. Instead of beige or tan, transition to chestnut brown.
Summer fabrics tend to be light & airy. When transitioning into fall, start pairing your floral tops & dresses with textures that are fall-friendly like natural or vegan leather, suede, corduroy, thicker ribbed or cable knits. This will help keep those much-loved florals with you longer into the fall season.
6. Tights and Leggings For the Win:
Want one more tip? Your favorite floral summer dresses don't have to hibernate. Slip into some tights or leggings, and you're ready to roll. It's like giving your dresses a warm hug – and who wouldn't want that? And as we mentioned earlier, just add some autumn-appropriate accessories and a light layer and voila! You are fabulously floral in fall.
So, there you have it, friends...your Easy 1-2-3 How To Guide to rocking those summer florals well into the fall season. It's all about mixing, matching, and having fun with your style. Be creative and remember to blend elements from both seasons. Keep those florals blooming and strut into fall with your head held high.

This year's summer trend is all about 'beachy chic'. We're talking classic, sophisticated, and simplistic styles paired with contrasting light & airy, eclectic boho accents with primarily neutral colors.
Let's explore 10 Trends of Summer together...and as an added bonus, I've put together some Outfit Inspirations for you with mix & match summer styles from The Top 10 Trends List including Apparel and Accessories. Oh, this is going to be fun! Let's go...
1. Sandy Neutrals
Daytime looks focus on warmer tones while brighter color pops are splashed into evening. This is very different from trends we've followed in the past where we'd wear our brightest colors during the day. Tan, beige, khaki, and mocha give us that sandy beachy vibe and offer a neutral base to mix & match a variety of tops and layering pieces.
2. Paperbag Waist
One of the hottest trends this year is paperbag waisted shorts & pants. A few tips on wearing this style: Tuck your top fully into the shorts all the way around. I know many of us are accustomed to the quick & easy "front tuck" but when it comes to paperbag waist styles, you're going to want to take the time to do a full tuck-in on that shirt. Also, choose a top that isn't bulky so that it is easily tucked in and maintains the flattering shape of the shorts and your waist. If you're not a fan of tucking in, opt for a cropped top, or one that falls just above your waist.
3. Wide Leg/Palazzo Pants
Everywhere I look, I'm seeing wide-leg pants this summer. I really like the cropped styles for those of us that are on the shorter side. I pair mine with simple wedges or low-heeled sandals. And much like the paperbag waist styles above, you're going to want to choose tops that can either easily be tucked in or fall just above the waist if your pants have a built-in belt or tie waist feature.
4. Ruffled Tops
If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that when it comes to style, I really don't follow "fashion rules" necessarily. I believe that style is a personal expression and anything goes. But if you're reading and looking for tips, I'm here for you. So when it comes to wearing ruffled tops, you may want to think about balance.
If your top is ruffled, go with a more fitted short, pant, or skirt. If you're not a fan of fitted clothing, that's okay. You can still maintain a balanced look by elongating your silhouette with a longer length skirt rather than a mini skirt. Opt for capri length bottoms or pants rather than shorts when pairing your bottoms with a ruffled top. This will balance your overall look.
But remember, you're your own boss when it comes to personal style. If you want to pair that gorgeous paisley ruffled top with those adorable swing shorts, have at it! I know I'd pair those 2 pieces together without thinking twice.
5. Eyelet Fabric
This year we're seeing a lot of tops in the eyelet fabric. Eyelet fabric is light and airy, making it perfect for hot summer days. Eyelet is made with tiny holes in the fabric - allowing air to pass through. This breathable feature will surely keep eyelet tops on our Top 10 list for a while, for sure.
6. Light Layers
The easy breezy kimonos and light layers of the boho days are back this summer. We're seeing them in all sorts of prints and solids. One of my personal favorites is the Secret Garden Floral Kimono with its paisley print and subtle hints of blue mixed with warm beige & tan on lavender. Look closely and you'll notice this one has ruffled sleeve accents, checking off two boxes on our summer fashion trends list!
7. Grecian/Halter Necklines
Grecian & Halter Necklines are very popular this year. We're seeing them everywhere and in all kinds of fabrics, prints, and solids. The exposed shoulders are very flattering and will keep you cool during the day and offer a romantic summer vibe for the evening. This Paisley Tie Back Style pictured below is one of my favorites:
8. Jewel Tones
I remember the years when dressing for summer meant wearing the brightest color from your closet. Although this year is focused more on daytime neutrals, we are seeing pops of color - just more in our evening looks rather than daytime. Specifically, jewel tones that you can find in nature - including amber, clay, brick, aquamarine, teal, and emerald are all colors we're pairing with those tan & beige daytime basics to create outfits that transition well into summer evenings.
9. Simple Bags
This year's summer bags are very different from those we've seen in years past. We're seeing simpler monochromatic styles rather than bold colorful prints. The focus is more on texture & material like straw, crochet lace, and canvas. When it comes to your bag this summer, think simple & solid. This will give you plenty of options to mix & match your bag with all of your summer outfits to get that 'beachy chic' look we're talking about.
10. Wrap Bracelets
After all this, if you feel like you need just a little something extra to really pull the whole 'beachy chic' vibe together, add a wrap bracelet! Wrap bracelets are fun, earthy, and add a layer of interest to your overall look.
Are you ready to get your 'beachy chic' look? We'd love to see pics when you do! And remember, fashion is fun. Be creative and wear what you love.

When we think of the color brown, we think of fall & winter. But did you know, you can absolutely wear brown in the spring & summer months too? There are so many shades of brown - from light tan/beige to a rich chocolate brown and everything in between including hints of caramel, orange, and rust. Read on for tips on how to wear all different shades of brown this summer without looking like you maybe just unpacked your fall favorites a bit too soon. ;)
There are 3 main elements to consider when dressing for the season. First, you'll want to consider a STYLE or cut that is 'season appropriate' for the warmer months. Think light, loose, and flowy. Next, FABRIC. Summer fabrics are breathable & stretchy. Third, add summer ACCESSORIES. Nothing says summer like sunglasses, a sun hat, straw bag, and sandals. This is my favorite part - I’m all about adding fun & interesting accessories. This is the creative part that really lets our individuality shine. Accessories are the finishing touches to our outfits. So let's get to it; first up is Style...
Unlike the heavy and dense clothing styles of fall & winter, summer styles are light, loose, and airy. Something to consider when incorporating brown into your warmer-month outfits, is to choose style pieces that are suitable for the season. Instead of a heavy cable-knit sweater, think 'light kimono' - like the ones shown below. The handkerchief hems & draping silhouette are light & airy - perfect for that easy breezy summer vibe.
The same holds true for tops & dresses. Opt for a flowy, less-fitted style to keep you cooler and more comfortable in those warmer months. You'll want the fabric to glide over your figure rather than hug your curves. This lets air flow freely keeping us cool as temperatures rise.
In addition to the style or cut you are wearing, fabric is equally as important. In the colder months, we tend to choose heavier, more dense garments to keep us warm - like cable knit sweaters. We gravitate toward wool, tweed, and tight knits. Summer fabrics are quite the opposite. Summer fabrics tend to be light, breathable, and/or stretchy.
Another great option for Summer is the Sheer Striped Sleeve Tee. It boasts alternating sheer stripes on the sleeves - a unique style feature we love especially for summertime. We are equally as excited about the the fabric of this top as well. It has a super soft and stretchy fabric blend which is exactly what we are looking for in our summer top picks.
One final step in bringing brown into your warm-weather style is accessorizing your look for summer. This is the fun part. Add accessories that have that summer vibe like sunglasses or a sun hat, for example.
Trade your winter accessories for summer options. Swap out winter boots for sandals. Natural stones and beads are great elements for summer jewelry. Also look to include unique pieces like blown glass and carved wood statement pieces. These are especially useful when incorporating varying shades of brown into your summer look. As mentioned earlier, brown comes in a variety of shades from very light to dark. Matching up those shades can be challenging. The use of accessories with varying shades of brown can be just what you need to pull your whole look together.
Handbags and purses vary from season to season. Winter bags tend to be heavier and made from leather or leather alternatives. On the contrary, summer bags are lighter and made from a variety of materials like straw, canvas, cotton, lace, and neoprene. Have some fun and trade in your winter bag for a few different options to mix & match with your new summer outfits. You may want to consider both a light and dark brown option. Some of our favorites this season are the Crochet Lace Shoulder Tote Bag, Meribella Neoprene Tote Set, Circle The Globe Bamboo Handle Bag, By the Sea Tote & Zipper Wallet Set.
Summer is sandal season. We recommend picking up a pair of brown sandals to coordinate with your new brown outfits this season. We have some really great options including flats, wedges, slides, ankle-strap, and more. Here are a few of our favorites:
Now that you've explored the 3 main elements to consider when dressing for the season, you are ready to take on the color brown any time of year - especially summer. Consider the style/cut & fabric and then accessorize!
Someone may be wearing the same top or the same dress as you. But chances are, the accessories each of you chose to wear are not the same. The final touches you put into your personal style are what make you unique. It's that little bit of extra that make you extraordinary. There are countless accessory options available to us today. It's about what you choose and how you to choose to wear it that makes your style yours. Your look is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that you create each and every time you get dressed. So don't be afraid to have fun and play around with all of those shades of brown this summer. Put together a summer outfit and have fun adding your personal style with accessories! Be sure to share a photo with us when you do!

You're busy. We know. When you're short on time but really want to look 'put together', forget about trying to match up a top, bottom, layer, shoes, and all the accessories. Instead, just choose one piece that will be the main focus of your entire outfit and go with very basic staples/solids for everything else.
If you wear patterns, great! Choose a printed piece for your statement piece like our Floral Leaf Chic Kimono.
The next step is choose the solid base to wear under your statement layer. The simplest option is a solid dress - I like to think of dresses as "one and done". No need to match a top to a bottom when it comes to dresses. If you're not a fan of dresses, that's okay. You can opt for a solid shirt and for your bottoms, go with jeans, leggings, or a skirt. Maintain the focus on that printed layering piece by keeping it as simple as possible with your base pieces - think solid and monochromatic for those base pieces.
If your wardrobe is in need of some solid basics to make building outfits easier, take a peek at which colors are most prominent in your favorite printed layering pieces and then pick up a few coordinating solids on our website here > Shop Solid Basics.
You can also visit the BLOG archives and read the BLOG: Solid Basics | Why You Need Them for more on Solid Basics.
Once you've got your statement layering piece and the base chosen, the rest is easy! Add coordinating accessories like a hair clip, necklace, bracelet, bag, and shoes.
When time is limited, don't fuss with the extras...just grab your favorites like that necklace you know goes with just about everything.
Our Filigree Clover Tassel Pendant Necklace & Earring Set is one of my personal favorites for this reason. It's a mixed metal set combining both silver and gold in one piece so coordinating with other jewelry is super easy. I like to keep a few pieces like this on hand for when I'm in a hurry and just need to grab something and go.
Next time you are short on time, your outfit can still look fabulous if you keep these simple tips in mind. Grab that one printed statement layering piece, simple solid base piece for underneath, and then accessorize with your neutral jewelry favorites and shoes. You've got this, fashionista! ;)

You may have avoided wearing jumpsuits in fear that they'll be mistaken for pajamas being worn out in public. I get it...it's a totally valid concern. Jumpsuits can be challenging to style - especially for those of us that are on the shorter side or have a curvier figure. Well, have no fear! We're here to help. Adding a few simple accessories to your one-piece jumpsuits & rompers can really take your look from understated to elevated with minimal effort. Let's jump right in...
First off, jewelry is a key element in any outfit and that's definitely true when aiming to dress up an otherwise casual jumpsuit. Add earrings, a statement necklace, bracelets, and rings. If your jumpsuit is a cropped length, consider an anklet as well. I often stack or layer my necklaces & bracelets as well as mix metals when wearing jumpsuits. This adds texture and interest to your look - something that you may usually get from your shirts or bottoms/jeans but lack when rocking your jumpers. Another tip - don't be afraid to grab some pieces with a little extra bling, even for a daytime look. That extra bit of sparkle helps lock in that you are, in fact, not wearing pajamas to the supermarket. ;) Our Rhinestone Wrap Bracelets are a great option for that. They are affordable and come in a variety of colors so you're sure to find one to coordinate with your new jumpsuit.
Next up, shoes! Shoes can magically change your entire look. If your goal is really to convince the world that you did not just roll out of bed and run to the store in your pjs, slip into a pair of heeled wedges or platform sandals. Nothing says elevated like heels! Our Corkys Calypso Wedge Sandals are easy to slip on with their velcro ankle strap. If comfort is a concern, go for a non-athletic sneaker like our Babalu Slip-On Sneaker. They have a trendy distressed look to them and because they don't have laces, they won't be mistaken for your everyday running shoe.
Now if you did actually just roll out of bed and slip into that jumpsuit, no worries! Grab an oversized beach hat and cool shades to not only hide whatever may be going on with your morning hair & eyes but to also cast a mysterious vibe all around you. It may sound crazy but sun hats and shades really do have a mysterious, almost romantic feel when worn together. Don't be surprised if someone asks for your autograph.
You may be wondering about what to wear under your jumpsuit if your jumpsuit has spaghetti straps like the one included here in our sample outfit, The Jayden Jumpsuit. You may not want your brassiere to peek out the top or the shoulder straps to show. I like to substitute a bralette or cami whenever I'm rocking spaghetti straps. Bralette straps tend to be more decorative and often thinner than regular brassiere straps. We have several padded, lined, and non-padded bralette options available and some come in upwards of 30 different colors. Consider this, intentionally choose a contrasting color for your bralette like a bright red or hot pink and have it be your accent or splash of color so that when or if it shows, it seems intentional and part of your outfit. Be sure some of the accessories we mentioned earlier have that color in them to really pull your whole look together.
Now that you know what to wear under your jumpsuit, let's chat about what to wear over it. If your jumpsuit has spaghetti straps, you may want to consider a lightweight layering piece like a kimono or long vest - especially if your jumpsuit is a daytime outfit that will transition into the cooler evening hours or indoors with air conditioning. That extra layer may come in handy. Also, if your jumper is one solid color, a printed layer is a great way to break up the solid color and add contrast. Even a layer in the same solid color but with a different fabric can add contrast through texture variation as shown by the Crochet Knit Short Sleeve Cardigan included in our sample outfit above. There are several shawl, cardigan, and kimono options available to help you style your jumpsuit into several different outfits. This is a great way to use the same base outfit piece again and again without looking like you are wearing the same thing over and over. Simply change up your layering pieces, jewelry, accessories, and shoes to create completely different looks each time.
One last tip...this one is especially helpful for those of us on the shorter side, curvier side, or have a shorter torso. If your jumpsuit looks a little "frumpy", is too long, too boxy, or if you want to create more of an hourglass silhouette, try adding a belt like I've done here with the Jenesis Tie-Dye Jumpsuit.
Before adding a belt, the jumpsuit was several inches too long for me - both in the torso and overall length. I added a simple Chain Link Belt (if I were wearing a solid jumpsuit, I would have opted for a more decorative statement-piece belt) and bloused the top of the jumpsuit over the belt to create a shirt + pants look. This shortened the overall length to better suit me and also created a more feminine silhouette. Belts are magical. :) If you're not one for belts, something you might want to consider is a Cardigan Shawl Scarf Clip. These clips attach to fabric and gather it in such a way as to pull it together the way a belt would but with more flexibility as to wear you put it and how much fabric is actually gathered. I use them often to for anything that is too large for me that I need to gather or make more fitted. I can attach in the back to create an a-line (closer to the bust) silhouette or down lower on the back to resemble more of the look of a belt without actually wearing a belt. These clips are a great option for those gals that really aren't fans of traditional waist belts.
And as we chatted earlier, you'll notice I am wearing a bralette under this jumpsuit. I opted for the Seamless Triple Criss Cross Bralette - it comes in so many colors and looks like it was made just for this jumpsuit.
I hope you enjoyed this article, now go ahead and jump into a new jumpsuit!

Some say the bohemian "boho" style is a fashion trend. For others, it is much more...it is a lifestyle - a way of being. In this article, we will explore the boho style so you can decide if the boho style is something you'd like to explore for yourself. If it is, we have some tips for how to bring some boho vibes into your personal style gradually, including this boho inspired outfit with soft blush pink and azure blue florals with coordinating accessories.
First off, let's get right to it...what is "The Bohemian Style"? The Bohemian or "Boho" style is characterized by whimsical, flowy (non-fitted) fabrics, with floral or geometric-type patterns like paisley or patchwork, and artful layering including cardigans, vests, scarves, and jewelry. As far as colors and prints - there really are no rules regarding the boho style. It sometimes leans toward earthy natural colors such as brown and green and subdued hues such as soft mauve pinks and blues. However, it is not uncommon to see vibrant bold splashes of color with large prints and patterns as well. What is important is to note the prominent elements that make the boho style unique from other styles out there: flowy loose fitting fabrics and layered clothing and jewelry.
So are you feeling the boho vibes? Are you feeling carefree, whimsical, creative, and artful? Ready to dabble in some bohemian inspired looks? Yes! We have a few tips to help you using the pieces you may already have in your closet. And don't worry, if you don't...our outfit suggestion included here is also an option for you.
First, take inventory of what you already have and take note of those pieces that are long, flowy, loose-fitting, airy, and lightweight. Some examples may be:
Sometimes choosing something that is in a larger size than what you would usually wear can help with achieving the relaxed silhouette of the boho style.
For your bottoms, a maxi skirt or wide leg pants would work well or opt for a dress. Keep your focus on lighter fabrics that have movement - think whimsical and carefree as you peruse your closet. Also, if you have a tank top or cami, that is ideal for layering underneath a vest or cardigan because as we discussed, layering is key when creating your boho outfit.
Once you have your clothing pieces selected, it's time to choose some jewelry and other accessories. The boho style tends to lean toward long earrings with tassels or feathers. Necklaces also tend to be long pendants. Wrap and stack bracelets are a great option and mixing metals and materials is perfectly acceptable, if not encouraged to achieve your new look. The boho vibe focuses on layering so don't be afraid to wear multiple necklaces and bracelets. And if you're feeling comfortable, add a belt or scarf to complete your look. Now you're ready to let that free spirit soar and embrace your inner flower child.
And remember, if you're not quite ready to put together your own boho inspired outfit, you can try our sample outfit that we've put together here. It includes a bohemian inspired soft blush pink and azure blue floral palazzo pant, lightweight short sleeve cardigan, and tank top set finished with unique accessories including earrings, a tree of life necklace, and turquoise stone protection wrap bracelet. And as always, we would love to do customize an outfit just for you! Personal styling is our specialty - drop us a message or email anytime, we'd love to hear from you!

Do you get excited about shopping? I know I do. But rarely do I find myself getting excited over shopping for Solid Basics...you know, the solid color tops, bottoms, and dresses that we often label as 'necessary but boring wardrobe staples'. We all have them (or at least we should) but they are not fun to buy. When I am shopping, I want to be inspired. I want something to "wow" me. That's how I know I just met my new best friend piece...the one that makes me feel like I can't leave her behind. Oh yes, "this beauty is coming home with me". Rarely do I say that when shopping for solid basics. Maybe if I appreciated just how useful and supportive these pieces were to my style, I would look forward to shopping for them and give them the attention they so deserve.
Come with me...let's explore WHY we NEED Solid Basics and maybe, just maybe...our must-have staples will find a place in our everyday style and not just the back of our closets.
First up, Solid Basics are SIMPLE. Yes, they are. They are not complicated like some of our busier printed pieces or embellished rhinestone numbers (you know we've all got something like that in our closets). I just got back from celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday in Las Vegas and my luggage was full of all the glitter, rhinestone, and shimmer I could jam in there. But when I'm home and living my 'regular life' you're going to find me in a balance of stand-out pieces and solid basics.
Solid Basics are Basic. That is why we call them a Wardrobe Staple. They are easy to grab & wear with just about anything. We don't have to be concerned with the type of event we're attending or the vibe of the venue. Whether we're headed into the office or running errands around town, solids always fit in. You can't go wrong with a solid. When you're having a busy morning and there is no time to put together that amazing inspiring outfit, what do you do? You grab a basic solid top and a simple bottom like jeans or leggings and out the door you go. Solid Basics remove the fuss in fashion and let us 'just be'...because every day is not a runway day and for most of us, we don't live in Las Vegas.
Next up, FOCUS. Solid Basics afford us the opportunity to keep the focus of our outfit on that special statement piece that does, in fact, inspire us. You know, that amazing bag you only carry on special occasions, or that necklace that makes you feel like a queen, or perhaps it's the shoes that squeeze your toes but my oh my they look so good! Yes, you know what mean...that statement piece. When you pair that special something with a busy print or equally embellished blouse, the attention and focus is now shared by the two. And we don't want that. We don't want our style to scream "hey, look at me I'm all that". Instead, we want to say "Look but don't stare, I've got it going on." There is a reason a spotlight shines in one area. It's meant to focus on one thing. Keeping the focus on one special piece is a classy understated look that can't steer you wrong. To accomplish this, you're going to need Solid Basics.
And lastly, we can't forget how much VALUE there is in our Solid Basics. What do we mean by value? Value is when we get more than we expect for what we give up or contribute. Maybe you snagged that solid tee in 4 colors because it was on sale. Little did you know you would pair those tees with countless blazers, jackets, cardigans, skirts, and leggings. You will wear them over and over again. And all the while, not feeling like you are wearing the same thing repetitively because each time you pair that solid top with a printed bottom, you are creating a new & unique outfit. And remember what we discussed above...the focus is going to be on the printed piece you're wearing or that statement accessory. That is what will be remembered from your outfit (not your solid top or jacket). I can't remember the last time a friend said "oh I love your solid blue top". I can, however, recall compliments on my floral printed skirt or herringbone blazer. So when shopping for those Solid Basics, get some good ones. Make sure you love the material, the fit, and the feel. You are going to wear them again and again. You don't really need 5 of the same color basic in your closet; you just need 1 or 2 in each color that makes you look and feel great.
Now that we know the importance of Solid Basics, it's time to assess our closets and refresh tired pieces and add new colors and styles. Be sure you have basics for each season - sleeveless, short sleeve, and long sleeve in both tops and dresses.
When I pair them with jeans, just about any layering piece goes. And for an ultra-comfortable outfit, I opt for one of these solid tops, matching solid leggings, a printed layer, and knee-high boots or booties. It's a simple outfit creating a simple look that is still "put-together" and stylish.
Another great option is The Cindy Top. The Cindy is a solid top that is available in sleeveless, short sleeve, and long sleeve. It has pockets (yes, pockets!) and an a-line flare hem that is ideal for pairing with leggings or pencil skirts (any bottoms that are form-fitting).
For those of us that enjoy wearing dresses, be sure to have solid options in your closet for both warm and cooler months. In the Summer, you'll find me rocking one of these sleeveless styles with a long pendant necklace (that'll be my statement piece as we discussed earlier) and strappy sandals or slip-ons. It's one of the simplest outfits I wear in the Summer. It requires little to no effort or planning which is great for me so I can get out the door faster and enjoy the warm weather while it's here. When cooler temperatures roll in, I swap my sleeveless dresses for those with long sleeves. Winter is the time of year when I also get to play around with all of my fun layering pieces: ponchos, cardigans, blazers, and vests. The Lety and Linda dresses with pockets are ideal for wearing under my layering pieces. Having an assortment of colors in these styles makes pairing Winter outfits so much easier.
Now that we know WHY we NEED Solid Basics, shopping for them should be more fun. Now get out there and have some fun!

Are Moissanite gemstones fake? Are they tacky? Will Moissanite stand the test of time?
Learn the key differences between moissanite and diamond including durability, brilliance, and color so you can select the ideal gemstone for you.
Moissanite is a gemstone born from the stars. It was first discovered in 1893 by a French scientist named Henri Moissan, who later won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He discovered microscopic particles of the gem that would eventually bear his name in Arizona, in a crater created by a meteorite that fell to Earth. He initially thought that he had discovered diamonds, but later determined that the crystals were composed of silicon carbide.
Natural moissanite is incredibly rare, so moissanite available today is laboratory-created. After many years of trial and error, the particles Moissan discovered were successfully synthesized to produce what is now one of the world’s most scintillating gemstones.
Moissanite, referred to as a diamond simulant or diamond alternative, is engineered to give the illusion of similarity to diamonds. They are not fake diamonds. They are created to resemble diamonds, but they carry their own name and increasingly favored reputation.
The reality is moissanite stones are one of the hardest substances known to man - they last forever. Moissanite gemstones also have incredible clarity and unmatched shine and sparkle. Moissanite’s rainbow colored fire in sunlight is just one of its exclusive qualities. Many people lack the budget but won’t consider anything besides a diamond, and end up settling for a lower quality diamond with more discoloration and inclusions simply for the ‘brand name’ that is ‘diamond’. Moissanite gemstones are all class with glistening eye candy that doesn’t fade over time - another reason why Moissanite is an option that is neither tacky nor cheap.
Because they are grown in controlled environments using advanced technology, moissanites require absolutely no mining to produce. Therefore, their origins are easily traceable.
Compared with natural gemstones, lab created moissanites have a smaller carbon footprint and result in less environmental impact. Fine jewelry made with moissanites and recycled metals is a responsible choice.
